Bio:

Cliff joined Route 66 Ventures as a Portfolio Management Associate. Prior to joining Route 66, Cliff spent over six years with American Capital in the accounting department engaged with different investment types from the early stages of European Capital as well as servicing syndicated debt investments for buyout deals. Cliff also managed the accounting for the CLO Fund and a $2B senior floating rate loan portfolio from inception until the portfolio was liquidated prior to the acquisition of American Capital by Ares Management. He began his professional career with T. Rowe Price in the equity portfolio accounting group as he enjoyed the mixture of traditional accounting principles with the dynamic aspects of investing.

More on his background:

Cliff took a hiatus in his finance career to pursue a Master’s in Landscape Architecture, another interest of his which focused on exploring creative and innovative ways to impact social wellness and the natural environment. This can be attributed to many factors but an important one was growing up across the street from a city park that was converted from a landfill. Cliff sees similarities between design and investment opportunities as both require problem solving skills to improve a situation or strategy given specific resources and constraints. When the weather permits, his free time is often spent outdoors exploring urban and rural parks or in his backyard gardening and tending to his plants. Other creative outlets include oil painting, thanks to Bob Ross, as well as experimenting with mixed media. When all else fails, Cliff loves getting back to the beach and in the water reminiscing the summers spent with his family growing up in Virginia Beach.

  • B.B.A., Accounting (concentration in Accounting Information Systems), James Madison University
